Australia UK sugar quota to open on 31 May 2023

The UK/Australia tariff-free sugar quota will be opened for a pro-rated quantity of 26,959 tonnes on 31 May 2023 until 30 September 2023, and thereafter increasing to 80,000 tonnes in 2023/24, 100,000 tonnes the next year, and then increasing by 20,000 tonnes per annum until sugar trade is fully liberalized after eight years. The sugar quota is open to all qualities of sugar, white and raw, under CN codes 1701.13; 1701.14; 1701.91; and 1701.99.
