Barbados will begin privatization of sugar industry

The government of Barbados will gradually begin the promised privatization of the national sugar industry, at the end of the sugar harvest in April this year, an official source announced. The State will stop injecting close to 30 million US dollars annually to the sector and this will give way to the transition process, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Indar Weir, told the press.
