The French industrial start-up Jimmy has submitted a request for authorization (DAC) for a thermal generator project which, if it passes all the stages of appraisal and authorization, could be set up in Cristal Union's Bazancourt sugar and ethanol factory in the Marne departement. The submission of this file initiates the opening of an investigation procedure by the French authorities. This will be highly regulated and codified, and will allow all stakeholders concerned to be informed and consulted throughout the investigation phase. Jimmy's thermal generators are based on high-temperature micro-nuclear reactors that produce the desired heat. Jimmy's innovative solution, which could provide a capacity of 10 MW, is one of the options being studied by the Cristal Union Group, whose objective is to decarbonize its industrial processes.
