France sugar beet area to increase by 4.6% in 2024, Agreste estimates

The ministry of agriculture of France estimates that the sugar beet area in 2024 will increase by 4.6% compared to 2023, when the area sown to beet in France had decreased significantly. In 2024 the French beet area will be closer to that of 2021 and 2022, nevertheless remaining down 3.0% compared to the 2019-2023 average. The area sown to industrial sugar beet in France in 2024 will be 397,900 hectares compared with 380,400 hectares in 2023, Agreste estimates.
