House approves urgent project that facilitates approval of pesticides in Brazil

The Chamber of Deputies approved this Wednesday (9) the urgency of a bill that facilitates the approval of pesticides in Brazil. The decision had 327 votes in favor, 71 against and one abstention. With this, the proposal can be voted on directly in the plenary. Nicknamed "PL of Poison", the project, presented in 2002, is heavily criticized by environmentalists. Defended by the ruralist caucus, the proposal on the federal government's agenda is called the “Safer Food Law”.
