The Commission is compiling the first supply balance for 2020/21 after UK's withdrawal from the EU. However, some technical corrections remain to be made as well as the balance will be reconciled with the industry at a meeting on 9 February. Production for the EU-27 is calculated to amount to 14.75 million tonnes (-10% compared to 2019/20), consumption to 15.2 million tons (+ 1%). Closing inventories are estimated at just over 1 million tonnes after adjustments with regard to taken for import and export. (Google translate from Swedish)
