Despite the already midsummer temperatures, the majority of the beet populations are currently in a very good condition. The precipitation of the past week has mitigated the effects of the heat and the rainfall expected in the next few days has initially laid a good basis for yield formation. The trial grubbing-up, which begins in July, will show how the stocks will develop. Leaf disease monitoring will start as early as next week in order to detect a possible infestation with Cercospora, Ramularia, rust or mildew in good time and to keep the beet populations healthy through timely fungicide measures.
