Slight upward revision of French sugar beet sowings

Industrial sugar beet surfaces are slightly revised upwards to 399 thousand hectares. They are almost stable compared to 2021 (-0.7%), but a sharp drop compared to the 2017-2021 average (-10.9%). The April frosts caused losses in the Grand Est and in the Centre-Val de Loire region, but some of the destroyed surfaces have been resown.
